Established in 2001, the Heritage Institute of Technology is a private institution in Kolkata managed by Kalyan Bharti Trust. It has been affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). The institute is accredited by NAAC and NBA and is approved by the AICTE. Heritage Institute of Technology ranked within the band 201-250 among all Engineering Universities by NIRF 2022.

Located in Kolkata, the Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT-K) stands as a prominent institution of higher education, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development of its students. HIT-K courses offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various engineering disciplines. 

The Trust encompasses six wings, namely The Heritage School (THS), Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT-K), The Heritage Academy (THA), Heritage Business School (HBS), Heritage Law College (HLC), and The Heritage College (THC). MOU signed with University of Massachusetts, Lowell for a variety of joint academic and education activities.

such as :

   a) Summer undergraduate experiences;

   b) Dual degree programs where selected HITK students on completion of their B.Tech. degree will
       be able to proceed to UML to complete their MS;

   c) Faculty and student exchanges and opportunities for paid internships;

   d) Cooperation in academic and research programs in nanotechnology oengineering, including joint
       Ph.D. programs;

Agreement signed with New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), NJ, USA with the following objectives to provide a meaningful learning and research experience to undergraduate students that will stimulate interest both in seeking a better future, performing research and pursuing graduate studies.

MOU signed with College of Natural Science, Sungkyunkwan University, Korea
     with the following objectives :

   a) Reciprocal exchange of faculty, Staff and students;

   b) Engagement in joint research projects;

   c) Fostering exchange of academic publications and information;

   d) Promotion of other academic activities.
